Heart, Hearth, and Community

To be admitted to Nature’s hearth costs nothing. None is excluded, but excludes himself. You have only to push aside the curtain
— Henry David Thoreau

Since ancient times humans have gathered around the fire to be with its warmth and to be in the circle, in communion with one another.

The fire’s rising flames and glorious light evokes the mysteries of the human and spiritual experience. Stories and songs bound the participants to one another in the space beyond the ordinary.

The fire in the home, the hearth, also was a place for sharing stories and songs perhaps those more intimate, relating to ancestors, living family, and daily life.

In todays world, the stories and narratives through which we understand our lives are diverse and divergent. The songs we sing are spread across hundreds of music genres.

What stories and songs bind us together now? Do the current stories ring true? Are the current stories life affirming and promoting our human evolution? Do we need to imagine new stories and uncover new myths to step into our greatest potential as humans on planet Earth?

Join us around the Hearth. Listening to Mother Earth and to our own inner knowing and the wisdom in the circle. We will create the great new stories.

Come join us for house concerts, circles, or meditations!
